News Segments Highlight Benefits of Multilingualism
The future is multilingual! As we begin the new school year, we are excited to celebrate and share two recent news segments highlighting SEAL's partnership with Delhi Unified School District (DUSD) and showcasing the powerful benefits of multilingualism.
The segments by Telemundo 33 and Univision 21 recently aired across California's Central Valley, with coverage extending to Sacramento and Bay Area regions. They report how our collaboration transforms students' lives, fostering bilingualism and biliteracy and building a more inclusive and welcoming school community. This partnership exemplifies how rigorous, joyful learning can advance the educational outcomes of Dual Language and English Learners, preparing them for success in a multilingual, global society. It is also a beautiful example of the implementation of the EL Roadmap.
This year, DUSD has expanded SEAL’s Full Model to more schools and classrooms. This scalable whole-school transformation approach centers home language while providing essential professional development for teachers and administrators focusing on high-leverage pedagogical practices, with thematic, content-rich units designed to develop essential language and literacy skills for academic success.
Our partnership empowers parents to engage actively in their children's education. DUSD parent Rosa Nuno shared that her youngest daughter is thriving academically and socially, thanks to SEAL’s approach. She feels more included and better equipped to support her child's learning alongside teachers.
Join us for more opportunities to highlight the benefits of multilingualism, celebrate examples of EL Roadmap implementation, and encourage more education champions to join us in our aligned missions. Much gratitude to DUSD who welcomed us into their classrooms and shared their story during a very busy first few days of school.
Please share the segments with your network (linked and captioned in English): Telemundo and Univision
