Comprehensive Whole-School Model

SEAL’s Full Model is just that: a comprehensive scalable whole-school reform designed for effective and lasting impact on multilingual learners in early learning and K-6 settings. We center home language and provide fundamental professional development for teachers, administrators, and everyone involved in English Learner and Dual Language Learner education. Our unique approach includes:

English Learner Roadmap in Collaboration Across California (EPiCC) - enrollment now open

SEAL is a proud partner in EPiCC (English Learner Roadmap Power in Collaboration Across California), a transformative statewide initiative funded by the Educator Workforce Investment Grant: Effective Language Acquisition Programs (EWIG: ELAP). Serving three of the four EPiCC zones, SEAL delivers high-quality professional learning for P–12 educators, paraprofessionals, school leaders, and counselors.

Project PEARLL

SEAL is proud to collaborate on Project PEARLL (Purposeful Engagement in Academic Rigor and Language Learning), a five-year initiative (2021–2026) funded by a National Professional Development grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office for English Language Acquisition. Led by Loyola Marymount University’s Center for Equity for English Learners (CEEL), the project brings together a consortium that includes SEAL, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LA Unified), and the Wexford Institute.

Project Royal

In 2016, SEAL partnered with the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) School of Education on Project ROYAL (Rigorous Opportunities for Young-children to Accelerate Language), a transformative initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education to strengthen language development and student success in TK-3 classrooms. Through collaborations with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) - Local District Central, LAUSD's Multicultural and Multilingual Education Department (MMED), the Wexford Institute, and Sobrato Philanthropies, Project ROYAL trained 84 in-service teachers and 18 LMU pre-service teachers in SEAL strategies.
