Annel Aguayo is a proud Bay Area native and development professional. After four years in the public sector, she began her career in nonprofit work 16 years ago with
Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP), where she was promoted through the ranks to become the Development Director. At RTP, Annel spent ten years working to preserve affordable housing in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara counties. She moved on to be the Director of Development at iMentor, where she supported the organization in building mentoring relationships that empower first-generation BIPOC students from under-resourced communities to pursue their post-secondary aspirations. Annel joined Rubicon Programs as the Chief Development Officer in 2020, focusing her time on securing financial resources and cultivating relationships to fulfill the organization’s mission to support individuals in Contra Costa and Alameda counties on their journeys to achieving economic mobility. Annel is passionate about serving her Bay Area community and working toward making it an equitable place for all. She attended San Jose State University and majored in journalism with a minor in music. In her spare time, Annel enjoys baking, reading, relearning the piano, and hosting her family and
friends for elaborate meals and tea parties.
