SEAL Associate Director Cory Wechsler will participate in the Early Learning Professional Meeting, hosted by San Jose State University's Early Childhood Institute. She will lead participants through a set of activities that brings to life the Comprehensive Approach to Learning.

Event Session: A Comprehensive Approach to Learning: Integrating Oral Language, Content, and Literacy for Multilingual Language Learners

Session Description: In this highly interactive session, participants will explore SEAL’s Comprehensive Approach to Learning. The focus will be on developing a learning environment that effectively integrates oral language development, literacy development and content knowledge learning, with a special emphasis on supporting Multilingual Language Learners. Participants will learn how to combine these domains to enhance academic success and literacy development, ensuring that all children, particularly those learning in multiple languages, thrive in a joyful and rigorous setting, with oral language development as the foundation for their social and academic growth.

Time: 9 am - 4 pm PST (SEAL session from 1:15-2:30 p.m.)
